Cycling Routes

(Not applicable to 2020 & onwards).

Remember - there is more than just the cycling !!!
There are lots of other activities taking place on the day at the pub.

Cycling will start from the Harvest Home Public House in Denmead at approx. 10:00 am.

There are 2 routes available (all distances are approximate).

Both these routes are currently provisional and will be checked out when the weather impoves.

There will be a 10 mile route going south of Denmead amd a 25 mile route going north.

The idea of 2 routes means you can cycle any of the following :-

10 miles - one loop of the 10

20 miles - 2 loops of the 10

25 miles- one loop of the 25

35 miles - both loops of the 10 and 25

50 miles - 2 loops of the 25

Immediately below are links to the Strava data for both the 10 and 25 routes.
These data files show the intermediate distances and elevations.

Below are download links to 2 zip files, which contain the GPX files for the 10 or 25 mile route.
GPX files cannot be downloaded directly, so are embedded in a zip file.
Click on the link, which will forward you to a window containing a 'Save As' option.
Save the file to your PC or device. You can then unzip the GPX files and put them
in your cycle computer or in an App on your Smart Phone.

The 10 mile route goes initially NE from the Harvest Home, then back towards Worlds End,
past the Chairmakers pub, then onto and through the village of Southwick. Here it goes
eastwards halfway up the hill on the B2177, until it turns left and continues past the
solar farms and Furzeley Golf Course, before returning back along Forest Road
to the Harvest Home pub.

The 25 mile route goes initially NE from the Harvest Home and heads towards the Bat & Ball pub.
From there it goes through Coombe Wood and back to Clanfield.
It goes up towards Butser Hill and then drops down to East Meon.
The route winds its way up towards the western end of Winchester Hill at Teglease Down.
From there it goes near to Brockbridge, but then on to Soberton.
The route then goes past Hoe Cross on its way into Hambledon.
The last part goes close to Worlds End before returning
to the Harvest Home in Denmead from the NW.
